ELNORA, Alta. – Nick Tetz (Calgary, Alberta) won his tenth PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Canada event of the season Saturday night in Elnora, Alberta, victorious at the Elnora Brahma Rama, overtaking the No. 1 rank in the race for the 2024 Canadian Championship.
Seeking history this season, should 2022 PBR Canada Champion Tetz win the 2024 title, and accompanying $100,000 bonus, he would become just the fourth rider in history to win the honor multiple times.
Tetz, who rides for the Arizona Ridge Riders in the separate PBR Teams league, delivered the event-winning ride in the opening round, covering Rico (Kinky Buckers) for 82 points.
Taking home 27 national points, Tetz overtook Cody Coverchuk (Meadow Lake, Saskatchewan) for the No. 1 rank in the nation. Tetz now leads new No. 2 Coverchuk by 3 points.
PBR’s animal athletes dominated at the Elnora Brahma Rahma, surrendering just one qualified ride in 20 attempts.
Langham Kid (Two Bit Bucking Bulls) and Shot Collar (X6 Ranch Bucking Cattle) bucked a cut above the rest, tying for the Bull of the Event honor after posting matching 43-point scores in the second round.
Langham Kid earned the marks for his 7.19 seconds of work against Chad Hartman (Lancer, Saskatchewan), while Shot Collar posted the top score when he tossed Carter Sahli (Red Deer Alberta) in 1.94 seconds.
